============================================================= = = = 2000 Spring/CAAT/Fall Softball Tournament 4/10/2000 = = = ============================================================= 5/1/2000 update: If two or more teams are tied after the preliminary games, losing points, (if same losing points) then winning points of all preliminary games are counted. 4/8/2000 update: For co-ed, if walk a male player before a next batting female player, the male player gets 2 bases. Rules: (PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE YOU REGISTER!!!) 1) A-league : Existing A-league teams. The last place team can move down to B-league, or teams approved by League director. 2) B-league : 1st place of last tournament will move up to A-league. Existing B-league teams or new teams. 3) C-league : Co-ed, 3 females , 7 males. (at most 4 A-league players allowed) 4) One player only represents one team in 3 leagues except C league with restrictions. 5) Only Chinese American players are qualified. Game is forfeited if any illegal players found. 6) League director has the right to deny the team with non-qulaified players. 7) Any player not listed in the application form will not be allowed to play. 8) Mercy rule is applied if there are 16 runs or more gap at the end of 5th inning. 9) Maximum 7 innings or 70 minutes each game. Umpire will inform both teams in last inning. 10) Game could be tied except playoff. 11) One pitch-runner allowed for each team in each inning. 12) Players without any NUMBER are not allowed to play. This is mandatory. Team T-shirt/ jersey is required. 13) 10 players (Min 6 players; 4M, 2F (7M/3F) for Co-ed ). Slow Pitch (6 to 12 ' arch). 14) 25 feet commitment line from the 3rd base to the home base is applied. 15) No need to step on the home base in order to score. Warning will be issued for the first player and counted as an out for the rest of the offenders. 16) Start with one strike and one ball. One fault is allowed. Two faults are counted as strikeout. 17) No lead off. No stealing. No bunt. Max 15 runs for each inning for all leagues. 18) Play-off: No mercy rule, and no max 15 runs for each inning. But 7 innings or 70 minutes rules are still applied. 19) Batting order must be on the line-up card for ten players. Additional players are allowed to be added to the batting order. But once the player is added, he/she will not be allowed to drop except the injury. 20) Level C is a modified Co-Ed. Two female players are required to station in the infield except the pitcher and catcher. Three defense positions are reserved for female only, no male substitution. 21) For level-C, the batting order should be: M M F ,Any missing F will be counted as an OUT. 22) Game time is also the forfeit time if no enough players (60%) come to play. 23) Managers or captains are responsible for the result of scoresheet. Verify with umpire at the end of game. 24) First forfeit costs $50. Second forfeit costs $50 and will result in being dropped from the tournament. 25) ASA rules are applied to the rules which are not specified above. First round - round robin; play-off: single elimination. Prize: One team trophy for each 1st and 2nd places. No indivisual 1st place trophies due to budget.
